Staff

  • Kaitlin Bishop, Executive Director

Chicago dancer Kaitlin Bishop was introduced to the Big Hearts Fund by Brandi Barker, trainer, i.e. dog whisperer, to her Argentine Dogo pups, Jax, Opie, & Louie. After losing Opie to an arrhythmia in April of 2010, Kaitlin felt an immediate connection to the mission of The Big Hearts Fund. Kaitlin has experience in arts administration as well as several years spent in the financial regulatory industry and is excited to put that experience to good use, raising awareness and funds for those animals and their families in need of care and assistance.

  • Christy Drackett, Founder and Program Director

Christy has experience in non-profit management, business relations, marketing, fundraising, grant writing, and program development. She earned a BFA in Industrial Design with a minor in Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University, and obtained her Masters in Counseling Psychology: Art Therapy from the Adler School of Professional Psychology. Christy has had experience working in corporate and small-business industrial design positions, working with troubled youth in inner city schools, and working in a hospital setting with psychiatric patients. In early 2010, Christy and her husband Chris were devastated when their Yellow Lab puppy Lucy was diagnosed with severe tricuspid valve dysplasia. She strives to bring all of these powerful experiences together with her visionary and creative nature to run organized, efficient, and most of all compassionate programming for The Big Hearts Fund.
