If your dog has been diagnosed with heart disease, please report it to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFFA)! To my knowledge, this is the only database that exists for collecting vital information about dogs with heart disease. And it is optional, which means there are probably unknown numbers of dogs out there who have never been reported. The more we report incidences of heart disease to the OFFA database, the more accurate this information will be… which hopefully will lead to increased research focused on understanding the genetic causes of heart disease, in turn saving lives.
